------------------------------------------- Export Wizard ©2001 Ban-Koe Systems Export Wizard is used to Export data from a SQL (Select) statement to a comma-separated file. ------------------------------------------- www.bankoe.com software@bankoe.com ------------------------------------------- Requirements: ------------------------------------------- 1) ODBC must be installed on your computer (see Verifying ODBC). 2) Pentium Class processor or better. 3) Microsoft Windows 95/98/NT/2000. 4) A SQL Statement builder provided by your DBMS (Database Management System) If not provided - NotePad may be used to create the (.sql) File. ------------------------------------------- Verifying ODBC: ------------------------------------------- To verify that ODBC has been installed on your computer, go to the Control Panel (by selecting the Start - Settings - Control Panel), then verify that an "ODBC Data Sources" icon exists. For Windows 2000 users, ODBC is now part of the operating system and does not need to be installed - see Administrative Tools. If ODBC has not been installed, see Installing ODBC. ------------------------------------------- Installing ODBC: ------------------------------------------- * This product uses ODBC (Open Database Connectivity) to communicate with your DBMS (Database Management System). * ODBC is included in Microsoft's MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components), which may be downloaded free of charge. * An ODBC Driver needs to be located on the computer where any of the programs reside. The tested ODBC Drivers are from Microsoft, located in the Universal Data Access area. This installation will require the Microsoft MDAC drivers. The tested drivers are: MDAC 2.5 (SP1) [2.5.0.4403.12], or MDAC 2.6 (RTM) [2.60.6526.3] **MDAC 2.6 and later require the JET 4.0 (SP3 Patch) ** * Windows 95 users must Install DCOM for Windows 95 before Installing MDAC. * DCOM and MDAC are also available on the Ban-Koe Installation CD. 1) Windows 95 users - download and Install DCOM95 for Windows 95 (http://www.microsoft.com/com/resources/downloads.asp) 2) Download and Install MDAC from http://www.microsoft.com/data/ ------------------------------------------- Release History: ------------------------------------------- Version 1.2.4.9 - Initial Release ------------------------------------------- MAIN FEATURES: ------------------------------------------- * Export Wizard is a Fully Functional Self-Contained executable (no dlls). * Use the SQL Builder (provided by your DBMS) to build a SQL File. * Use the ODBC Administrator to create a Data Source to your DBMS. Use the System DSN tab when making Data Sources. * Run ExportWizard.exe Choose Data Source, User, and Password - then connect. Select the SQL File generated by the SQL Builder. Select an output file. Choose Show Results to preview the results. Choose Export to export the data to the comma-separated file. Choose View Export (when export completes) to view the exported data. * Export Wizard supports multiple parameter files. The Default parameter file: "Export Wizard.bkp" will be created. Choose menu option Save As to make a copy of this configuration. Choose menu option Open to open a different configuration. Export Wizard will open with the "Last Used Parameter File". * Command Line Parameters may be used to automate procedures. ExportWizard.exe ["Parameter File"] [/AutoRun] The /AutoRun parameter will Open the program, Export the data, and close. * Export Wizard allows formatting of Dates, Times and Floating-point values. Choose menu option Setup-System for Data formats. ------------------------------------------- LICENSING: ------------------------------------------- * Export Wizard is limited to exporting 5 records (without a license file). * Upon purchase, a license file will be sent to you. When this file is copied into the Export Wizard's Installation directory, this limitation will be removed.
